Ventures in Community Hypothermia Outreach Program (VIC-HOP)
Venture in Community’s Hypothermia Outreach Program (VIC-HOP) is a temporary overnight shelter operated by County staff and supported by volunteer faith and non-profit organizations December – March. This year, VIC-HOP is back at Rising Hope Mission Church (8220 Russell Rd.).
Good Shepherd supports all Saturday evenings December, January, February, and March . Volunteers are needed to:
- Cook a main course at home for 25 people, deliver on Saturday at 6:30pm
- Supply salad, salad dressing, beverages, and dessert for 25 people and deliver to Rising Hope at 6:30pm on Saturday,
- Serve dinner to the residents and clean-up; shift from 6:30 – 9:00pm. Must be 18 or over to enter the shelter.
- Pickup 15 breakfast bags from Good Shepherd Catholic Church during the week (during office hours) and deliver to Rising Hope on Saturday between 6:30 – 7pm.
