On this Solemnity, we affirm “the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul to heavenly glory.” In the light of the Assumption of Mary, it is easy to pray her Magnificat (Lk 1:46 – 55) with new meaning. In her glory she proclaims the greatness of the Lord and finds joy in God her Savior!
