"Now is a Day of Salvation …"

These words of St. Paul (2 Corinthians 6:2), proclaimed each year on Ash Wednesday, take on a unique meaning this Lent as we celebrate this holy season during the Jubilee of Mercy. Recalling God’s mercy, which He always shares so lavishly with us, we express our gratitude as best we can by sharing His merciful love with others.

And so we participate again in our traditional spiritual exercises of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, but with a certain expectation that we will experience unique blessings through these practices this year because we undertake them within the context of the great Jubilee.
