    Parish Mission Starts this Weekend!

    THIS WEEKEND AT GOOD SHEPHERD
    • Healing Mass - Saturday, 2:30pm Join Father Tom at this special Mass for those in need of physical, emotional, mental or spiritual healing, and for caregivers. Reception will follow.
    • Year of Mercy Kick-off - Saturday, 6-8pm Family-friendly event with food, fun and games. RSVP HERE (to help us have enough food!)
    • Sharing Sunday every Weekend in Lent: Thank you for donations of non-perishable groceries to help neighbors in need.
    • Operation Rice Bowl: Pick up a Rice Bowl this weekend and participate in this Lenten activity of prayer, fasting and charity. 
    • Nail Sale after Masses: Support our HS teens as they raise money for WorkCamp. The nail is a reminder of the service the teens will be performing, as well as Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Thank you for your prayers and donations!
    • Parish Mission Begins Sunday! Join Father Matt Hillyard Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening for our Lent Mission:Opening Our Hearts to Mercy. Sunday, 7:45pm, Monday and Tuesday, 7:00pm. More details HERE

    Join us in Prayer, Fasting, and Charity as we Journey to Easter in the Year of Mercy. Some activities for Lent include:
    • Wednesday evening Mass, at 6pm
    • The Light is On for You, Sacrament of Reconciliation, Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:00pm (all parishes in DC and Arlington)
    • Stations of the Cross, Fridays, 6:45pm
    • Lectio Divina, (Bible study / Prayer group) Fridays, 9:45am
    • Friday Fish Fry at the Knights of Columbus (8592 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22309) 5pm-6:30pm Flounder, cole slaw, potato salad and more for family-friendly prices!  DETAILS HERE

    ​HEALING MASS - NEW DATE/TIME
    Due to an unavoidable conflict, the Healing Mass is re-scheduled for Saturday, February 27 at 2:30pm. Join Father Tom at this special Mass for those in need of physical, emotional, mental or spiritual healing, and for caregivers. Reception will follow.
     
    THIS WEEKEND AT GOOD SHEPHERD
    • Soup and Stations, Friday, February 19, 6:00pm Join us for a light soup supper and a presentation of the Stations of the Cross from our Youth Group.
    • Make Me a Channel of Your Peace: Saturday, February 20, begins with 5pmMass. Dinner and Keynote address to follow. Keynote Speaker: Bishop Oscar Cantú from the Diocese of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Chair of the Committee on International Justice and Peace. (RSVP to peace@arlingtondiocese.org, 703-841-3881. $10 donation suggested.)
    • Sharing Sunday every Sunday in Lent: Thank you for donations of non-perishable groceries to help neighbors in need.
    • Pancake Breakfast: Join us after Mass Sunday morning for pancakes and sausage (thanks to the Knights of Columbus).

    • Sharing Sunday every Sunday in Lent: Thank you for donations of non-perishable groceries to help neighbors in need.
    • Book of the Month on Sale after Mass - The February Book of the  Month is Kerry Weber's Mercy in the City: How to Feed the Hungry, Give Drink to the Thirty, Visit the Imprisoned and Keep Your Day Job.  Read the book and join us for a discussion on Tuesday, March 8, 7pm.
    • LMVSC Soccer Registration: Sunday, 1-4pm Volunteers from LMVSC will be available to assist with registration for Spring soccer.
    • The office is closed Monday, February 15 for President's Day.

    Celebrating a Day of Friendship - A Social Event for the Whole Parish
    Enjoy Latin music, food, fellowship and fun! $30/person.

    TEEN "SOUPER" BOWL PARTY

    Fun starts Sunday, February 7 at 5pm in the gym at St. Louis School. Flag football, games, videos, dinner, and of course the Super Bowl!   Entry "fee" is a snack to share, and a can of soup or other non-perishable food item for a local pantry. 
    Permission form is due ASAP.
