MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Formation in Christian Chastity
Sunday, November 15 and Thursday, November 19
This Safe Environment Training class required by the Diocese focuses on moral decision-making. A detailed description and lesson plan are available on the Faith Formation – Teens page of the website. Parents who choose to opt out of the class and teach the material at home must submit an Opt-Out Form no later than November 8 or November 12.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Called to Protect for Youth
Sunday, November 15 and Thursday, November 19
This Safe Environment Training class required by the Diocese focuses on the prevention of sexual abuse. A detailed description and video clips are available on the Faith Formation – Teens page of the website. Parents who choose to opt out of the class and teach the material at home must submit an Opt-Out Formto Rosie no later than November 8 or November 12.
Confirmation Packet: In October, students received a Confirmation Timeline and their Confirmation Requirements (Confirmation Name Form, Sponsor Packet, and the Pentecost Project). Please review this packet with your child and mark all deadlines on your calendar.
Pentecost Project: Students must submit the Pentecost Project Proposal Form to their catechists no later than December 6 or December 10.

Coming this month to the Faith Formation – Teens Page. This Guide includes details and contact information for a variety of volunteer opportunities for teens at Good Shepherd and in the community.
Spaghetti Dinner: November 7, 5pm
Teen volunteers are invited to help at this annual parish dinner. Help needed between 3:30 - 7:30pm. Contact Bob Schwenk, 703-360-1181
Service Saturday: November 14, 12 – 4pm
A day of service for families at Good Shepherd! Teen volunteers are invited to run the service stations and more. Contact Pooja Krumenacker
“Homeless For A Night” Campout:
Saturday, November 14 (2pm)– Sunday, November 15 (9am)
In solidarity with our homeless brothers and sisters, learn what it’s like to be homeless for a night. See the complete schedule and register online at the Youth Ministry Page by November 9. Contact Miguel
NOTE: 3 hours of this awareness-raising event can be credited to the 2nd Year Pentecost Project for students who choose Homelessness as their area of service. Contact Rosie for details.
Celebration of Our Lady Queen of Peace - Patroness of El Salvador: Sunday, November 22
Teens are invited to help set up, serve, and clean up at the reception and food sale following the 2pm Mass celebrating Our Lady Queen of Peace. Time slots available on afternoon/evening pf Saturday, November 21 and on Sunday, November 22. Contact Leah Tenorio
Load the Truck for Sharing Sunday: 1st and 3rd Sundays of the Month
Teens are needed to load the UCM truck with Good Shepherd's Sharing Sunday food donations. Contact Miguel
Coffee and Donuts: 1st Sunday of the Month
Teens are needed for set-up and serving coffee and donuts after Sunday Masses on the 1st Sunday of the month. A few parent volunteers are also needed. Contact Miguel
PARENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: HELP TEENS GET INVOLVED IN SERVICE!
Are you interested in helping teens find meaningful ways to serve? We are looking for an adult volunteer or pair of volunteers who can communicate teen volunteer opportunities to teens and their families. This is a flexible job that does not require a significant time commitment. Please contact Rosie for details.
