PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL - MEMBER BIOGRAPHIES

Ralph Tindal joined the parish several times throughout his naval career. Ralph has served in a variety of capacities in federal, private and non-profit sectors as a strategic planner. Ralph is a member of multiple non-profit boards. In addition to being a five year member of the PPC, he has served as member of the Stewardship Committee, International Festival, music groups and as a LEM.
Katie Savage moved to the area as a young girl in 1977 and has served the parish throughout her life. She and her husband, Mike, live in Stratford Landing with their three daughters: Mary Kate, Clare, and Bridget. Katie has worked in the private sector as a tax consultant and CPA and as a math teacher. Katie volunteers in the parish as a substitute catechist, at the German Booth at the International Festival and has been a member of the PPC since its inception in 2006.
Bob Faherty has served on the PPC for three years. He has been a resident of the area for 33 years and a member of the parish for 6 years, serving as a member of the Social Justice Committee. Bob is the vice president of the Brookings Institution and director of Brookings Press. He has also served on various non-profit boards, is a former president of the UCM board and a member of Fairfax County Human Services Council.
Rick Denham has served on the PPC for two years. He and his wife, Marlyn, have been members of the parish since 1998 and have served with the Sharing Sunday food delivery program to United Communities Ministries and the International Festival. Rick is the CFO for a defense contractor.
Jack Pitzer has been a member of the parish since 1994 and is in his second year on the PPC. Jack serves as the president of an association management company and was a staffer at Future Farmers of America when it was next to the Grist Mill. Jack volunteers with Fairfax County Parks and is a singer in a barbershop harmony group. Jack loves being a greeter before and after 9 o'clock Mass and is the coordinator of Roses Bakery for the International Festival with his wife Pat.
Vickie Schray is in her second year as a member of the PPC. For the past 15 years, Vickie has served at the U.S. Department of Education in a number of senior leadership positions with responsibility for leading major change efforts and initiating extensive public engagement strategies with a broad range of stakeholders. She has been a Good Shepherd member since 1998 and has volunteered with Mondlach House and as a religious education teacher.
Phil Bolin has been a member of the parish since 1977. He has served in a number of capacities including president of the Parish Council, Chair of the International Festival, Hospitality Committee, 25th Anniversary Celebration and Creedon Hall Dedication. Phil serves on the Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services and is the father of two adult children. He works with an advertising/sales promotion company.
George Breen has been a member of the parish since 2003. He is an attorney and partner with Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. He serves as counsel to, and member/officer of, various boards and other professional associations. He and his wife, Missy, are the proud parents of a son (9) and daughter (6).
Marie Canny is a long time member of the parish. She has served in a number of capacities including LEM, lector, volunteer for International Festivals, and member of the Social Justice Committee. Additionally, she recently completed JustFaith. She is a retired administrator for Fairfax County Public Schools and former president of the Board for United Community Ministries and currently serves as a member of other Boards.
Anne de Dios and her family joined the parish eight years ago. She has served in the parish religious education program as Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and VBS catechist and a member of the Shepherd's Gate Grant Committee. Anne enjoys volunteering in her children's elementary school and the library's family literacy program.
Dan Newsome joined the parish two years ago. He transferred to the area to be a Department of Defense Auditor, CPA. Dan was very active in his previous parish as a Eucharistic Minister at English and Spanish masses and member of the Facilities Committee. Dan also served as President and Treasurer of St. Vincent de Paul in California.
