COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE
Purpose:
The Communication Committee was founded in 2005 to meet the need of our growing parish to share messages more effectively. The Committee works with the parish leadership and community to implement an internal and external communication system that promotes Good Shepherd’s Vision and Mission. Activities:
Our activities, including those listed below, provide a unique opportunity to interact with a broad range of people in our parish and in the community. Our committee meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month in Creedon Hall 3. Check the parish calendar for any changes.
- Coordinate writing and production of Good Shepherd’s Newsletter, the Shepherd’s Watch
- Provide guidance on publicizing major GSCC events internally and externally, including the annual International Festival and Ministry Fair
- Expand Web site content on parish activities; upgrade site to enable user interaction
- Provide guidance on improving the Bulletin as a communication tool
- Update Good Shepherd’s external relations management procedures
- Partner with Facilities Committee to improve audio-video capabilities
Volunteer Needs:
We welcome volunteers who want to participate regularly as part of our core committee or who prefer to work with us sporadically based on project needs, including:
- Newsletter/document reporting, writing, editing, proofreading, lay-out
- Public relations
- Organizational communication
- Photography/videotaping
