How Can I Become a Catholic?
We have a wonderful process at Good Shepherd for becoming a Catholic, called the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). Our process is welcoming to everyone and flexible enough to fit into very busy lives. To learn more, visit our RCIA page.
How Can I Get Involved at Good Shepherd?

What is Good Shepherd’s inclement weather policy?
If Fairfax County Schools are closed, the parish facilities are closed, and ALL day and evening activities and meetings, including religious education classes, are CANCELLED. This also applies for weekends. If the schools have a delayed opening, there may be a delay in opening the parish office. Weekday morning Mass and weekend Confessions and Masses will still be held.
Can I set up an automated bank transfer for my offering or gift to Good Shepherd?
Yes, you can use your bank’s web site and do an online payment. Use the Good Shepherd address (8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309) and phone number (703-780-4055). Use your envelope number for the account number. You may pay weekly, monthly, etc., as you wish.
How do I schedule a baptism? When are baptism classes held in English/Spanish?

How far out do I need to start the process of getting married?
You need to start the process at least 1 year in advance of the wedding date. To learn more, visit our Marriage page.
Does Good Shepherd have a Mother's Support Group?
Yes, the group meets weekly. For information, visit our Mother's Group page.
Does Good Shepherd have a homeschooling network group?
Yes, the group meets weekly at the church. For information, visit our Homeschooling Network page.
